Keeping it short and sweet, welcome to Sunday Rundown #62 🙂 Let us see what has been happening this last week.

Tim Cooks attacks Facebook

“A social dilemma cannot be allowed to become a social catastrophe.”, says Apple CEO Tim Cook in a recent speech in Brussels marking International Data Privacy Day. Cook’s speech seems to be a direct response to Facebook’s recent attack on Apple, in which the world’s largest social network took out full-page ads in several newspapers attacking Apple’s new privacy changes.

Without even mentioning Facebook, in his speech Cook gives a tough lesson we should all think about.

Now is the time to ask yourself: Which philosophy do I want to pursue? Do I want a business that serves my customers? Or one that takes advantage of customers to serve my business?

One good news and one bad news for Instagram users

Do you want the bad news first or the good news? Let me make you happy first.

Instagram adds Recently Deleted, a feature to help you manage your content. For the first time, you can review and restore deleted content in the Instagram app. They also added protections to help prevent hackers from compromising your account and deleting posts you have shared.

And do not get too excited cause here is the bad news.

While Instagram continues to add more and more functions, it also, increasingly, wants users to better focus what they post within each element, in order to maximise engagement. They are testing a function in which some users are not allowed to share News Feed posts to their Story. If you have followers who maybe once a month decide to see what you posted on your News Feed but watch your Stories every day, ummm.. I think you’re f____d up. 🙁
